Caught on Camera: Leftists Chant Chilling Threat at Trump

Ink Drop

It started with James Comey’s bizarre beach stunt and has now escalated into something far darker. In a shocking video from Wichita, Kansas, a group of left-wing protesters is seen chanting “86 47,” a not-so-subtle reference widely interpreted as a veiled threat toward President Trump—the 47th president of the United States.

Newsmax host Todd Starnes posted footage of the event, where the crowd screeched the phrase in unison while holding up anti-Trump signs. One protester, in particular, caught attention for parading a cartoonish Trump effigy pierced with arrows or darts as the chant echoed in the background.

For those unfamiliar, the number “86” is slang for eliminating or getting rid of someone, and “47” refers to Trump’s current position as the 47th President. Put together, it strongly implies a desire to remove Trump—permanently.

This isn’t just tasteless. According to federal law, it could be criminal.

18 U.S. Code § 871 makes it illegal to threaten the President, Vice President, or anyone in the line of succession. The statute clearly states that anyone who “knowingly and willfully… makes any such threat” could face fines or imprisonment for up to five years. Given the clarity of the chant and its intent, the argument could be made that these demonstrators are crossing a legal line.

The broader concern here isn’t just the legality—it’s the normalization of violent rhetoric against a sitting U.S. president. What was once relegated to internet fringes is now being shouted on American sidewalks in broad daylight. And it’s not happening in the usual blue coastal enclaves—it’s happening in Kansas.

Meanwhile, there’s no word yet on whether the Secret Service will investigate the demonstrators, though the agency certainly has its hands full in this environment. Historically, officials tend to focus on credible threats rather than every public display of hostility. But the “86 47” movement—if it can be called that—is raising eyebrows.

Some on the right have pointed out the stark contrast in treatment. Imagine if crowds chanted “86 44” during the Obama years, while carrying voodoo dolls of the president. The media would have erupted, and the Justice Department would likely have responded swiftly. But so far, corporate media outlets have stayed silent.

Former FBI Director James Comey, who first went viral for posting “86 47” in the sand during a beach stroll, has tried to downplay the controversy—laughably claiming his wife wrote it. But that hasn’t stopped the chant from gaining traction among left-wing activists, many of whom seem blind to the implications.

RedState’s Ward Clark didn’t mince words in his analysis. He noted that even if just 10 percent of these demonstrators are serious about their threats, the consequences could be dire—and not in the way these protesters might expect. If political violence erupts, Clark warned, it won’t unfold like some progressive fantasy. “It wouldn’t end up anything like they think it would,” he wrote.

This incident in Wichita may blow over, but it reveals something more alarming: the left’s rhetoric is becoming increasingly militant, and their hatred for Trump knows few bounds. As political tensions rise in the lead-up to the 2026 midterms, this kind of escalation is exactly what America doesn’t need.

Stay tuned. The “86 47” crowd might think they’re being edgy, but they could be inching dangerously close to federal charges. And if the quiet ones are the ones to watch, this loud display of hatred might just be the tip of the iceberg.
