The victim is Henry Nowak, a teenage British boy stabbed to death in the United Kingdom by an immigrant man named Vickrum Digwa who declared racism as his self-defense.

But sure, tell us again how "diversity is our strength."

Vance took to X on June 5 and delivered remarks that read less like a diplomatic statement and more like an indictment of an entire continent's ruling class. "Henry Nowak died the same way a civilization dies: abandoned, handcuffed by authorities who neither trusted nor cared for him, and accused of hate crimes he did not commit," Vance wrote. Let that sink in. A 14-year-old kid gets stabbed multiple times, and the system's first instinct is to call him the bigot.

That's not a bug in the European model. That's the feature.

Bodycam footage from the incident reportedly shows police misconduct — officers more interested in managing optics than saving a child's life. This is what happens when a government decides that protecting its citizens' feelings about immigration matters more than protecting its citizens' actual lives. Henry Nowak wasn't an abstraction. He was a kid.

Vance didn't stop at mourning. He went straight for the throat of every European leader who has spent the last two decades rolling out the red carpet for mass migration while ignoring the consequences. "He should still be alive today, and he would be if the last few generations of European elites had stood their ground against the politics of self-hatred and the mass invasion of migrants, many of whom despise the West and the people who love it," Vance said.

Now, we could sit here and pretend this is just a European problem. We could shake our heads at Britain and tut-tut about how they've lost their way. But let's not kid ourselves. Every open-borders Democrat in Washington is running the same playbook. The only difference is that we had the good sense to elect people willing to fight back. Britain didn't. And Henry Nowak paid the price.

Dr. Krzysztof Magier, a Polish trauma specialist, has spoken publicly about the case, adding a medical dimension to the horror that the British establishment would clearly prefer to sweep under the rug. But you can't sweep a dead child under the rug forever. Not when the Vice President of the United States is standing on top of it with a megaphone.

The left will call Vance's remarks "inflammatory" or "xenophobic" or whatever word-of-the-week they're using to silence people who notice that their policies keep getting people killed. They always do. But Vance finished with something they can't spin away: "We love our civilization. We love our country. We love our children. And nobody should ever die the way that Henry Nowak died. May God comfort those who loved him, and may God rest his soul."
