Michael Beyer chose his words deliberately.

He's a Twitch streamer and Democratic Socialists of America activist, and this week he sat in front of a camera and said out loud what the DSA has spent years planning in private. He described the goal — seizing control of the Democratic Party — and then he described what getting there would require.

"We have seen the Democratic Party establishment that has to be ripped out," Beyer said. "We can actually start to grab hold of the ship of state and steer it in our direction, but it's going to be a violent process."

Violent. Process.

The word he chose was violent. Recorded. Posted publicly. Left standing without correction or apology.

Nobody pushed back. That silence is the story.

Beyer is part of a coordinated DSA effort that just landed two nominees in major 2026 midterm races — Angie Nixon for a Florida Senate seat and Abdul El-Sayed for a Michigan Senate seat. Real nominees in real races, with the full DSA platform behind them. That platform calls for abolishing the presidency, the Senate, and the Supreme Court.

That's demolition with a pamphlet. And the people carrying the pamphlets just won primaries.

A series of videos circulating on social media show DSA members describing their intentions without ambiguity. "We hate the Democratic Party," one says. "We need to orient ourselves toward insurrection," says another. A third: "We need to take that Empire down from within." DSA Watch and Canary Mission published the videos alongside screenshots of the DSA platform itself — so no one can claim they didn't know what this organization intends, or that it failed to put it in writing.

This is a movement telling you, in its own words, what it is. The only question is whether the people in its path are paying attention.

The Democratic Party's leadership is not.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was asked about the socialist insurgency gutting his party from the inside. "We're a big tent party," he said. "And not everyone has the same exact view on every single issue. But if you look at the overall issues, the costs that people pay, the chaos in the Trump administration, you see it daily. So we are a big tent party, and we're united on the major issues facing America."

People inside his tent are calling for insurrection against American institutions. They're describing the internal takeover of his party as a violent process. They've published a platform calling for the abolition of the Senate — the body Schumer leads. His response is that it's a big tent.

Senator Jon Ossoff of Georgia, facing reelection in 2026, was asked directly about DSA-backed candidates winning Democratic primaries. "The primary is in the past," Ossoff said, "and the nominee has my support." Representative Jake Auchincloss of Massachusetts put it this way on Fox News Sunday: "We need to welcome in voters of all stripes."

All stripes. Including the stripe that has stated, on video, that it needs to orient itself toward insurrection.

Oliver Larkin, a DSA member who ran in Florida's 25th congressional district, bragged publicly about appearing on radical antisemite Hasan Piker's podcast. "I was more than happy to go on Hasan's podcast," Larkin said. "As Democrats, we need to go into these spaces." Piker's co-streamer Joy Reid and podcast host Krystal Ball have helped amplify the DSA message to millions of followers, dragging the fringe toward the center one platform at a time.

The Democratic establishment tells itself the wave is manageable. They point to DSA losses — Cori Bush in Missouri, Francesca Hong in Wisconsin, Elijah Manley in Florida — and call it a contained fire. A few wins, a few losses, the big tent absorbs it all.

The wins are accelerating. Nixon and El-Sayed are on the ballot running on the DSA platform — the one that abolishes three branches of government. And the moderate Democrats sharing the ballot with them have calculated that staying quiet is safer than saying what they actually see. That calculation is doing the DSA's work for them.

The DSA, at least, is honest about what it intends. A movement this radical and this open about its contempt for democratic institutions tends to expose itself. What you cannot explain away is the behavior of the people who see it clearly and say nothing — elected officials who know exactly what "violent process" means and have decided their own political survival is worth more than the warning.
