Your Tax Dollars are Being Used to Buy Illegal Aliens Haircuts and Yoga Classes

A Boston LGBTQ activist group has been running a taxpayer-funded “wellness” program for migrants that included — and we are not making this up — yoga classes and haircuts. The City of Boston was happily shoveling your money into this operation until conservative media blew the whistle this week.

Nameste, suckers! While you were clipping coupons to afford groceries, an illegal alien in Boston was getting a fresh fade and learning downward dog on your dime. What a country.

The group in question calls itself a “community wellness” organization, which is one of those phrases that sounds noble until you find out what it actually means. In this case, it means taking federal grant money earmarked for migrant services and spending it on spa day. We’re surprised they didn’t throw in a kombucha bar and a sound bath while they were at it.

Here’s how the grift worked. The City of Boston approved grants to this LGBTQ activist organization to provide “wellness services” to migrants. Normal people hear “wellness services” and think maybe basic medical care or mental health support. Nope. Yoga. Haircuts. The kind of stuff most working Americans pay for out of their own pockets — when they can afford it at all.

The Daily Signal broke the story on April 16th, and the reaction was immediate. The group “suspended” its program faster than a college kid deleting tweets after getting a job offer. One minute they were rolling out yoga mats for people who crossed the border illegally, and the next minute they were shutting the whole thing down and pretending it never happened.

(Funny how that works. They’re never embarrassed about the program until someone reports on it.)

We need to talk about the word “suspended” for a second. They didn’t cancel the program. They didn’t apologize. They didn’t return the money. They “suspended” it — which in government-speak means “we’re going to wait until you stop paying attention and then quietly start doing it again in six months.” We’ve seen this playbook before.

The real villain here isn’t even the activist group. They’re grifters — that’s what grifters do. The real villain is the City of Boston, which approved these grants in the first place. Some bureaucrat in a corner office signed off on taxpayer money going to yoga classes for illegal immigrants and thought, “Yeah, this seems like a great use of public funds.” That person still has a job today. Unbelievable.

Think about this for a second. You work fifty hours a week. The government takes a fat chunk of your paycheck before you ever see it. That money goes to Boston, where city officials hand it to an LGBTQ activist group, who use it to teach illegal aliens how to do warrior pose. That’s the pipeline. Your overtime paid for someone’s sun salutation.

And we’re supposed to feel bad that conservative media exposed this? The group is reportedly “flailing” after the coverage, scrambling to explain why haircuts and yoga were legitimate migrant services. Here’s a thought — maybe don’t spend tax dollars on things you can’t defend with a straight face.

The Left loves to scream about “compassion” and “meeting people where they are.” Fine. But at some point, “compassion” stops being a virtue and starts being a credit card that someone else is paying off. American citizens are struggling with rent, groceries, and gas prices — and their tax dollars are subsidizing yoga mats in Boston for people who aren’t even supposed to be here.

Pop quiz: What’s the difference between a government grant and a money laundering operation? Apparently, a yoga instructor and a barber’s chair.

The program is “suspended” for now. But don’t hold your breath waiting for anyone in Boston to actually be held accountable. The bureaucrats who approved it will keep their jobs. The activist group will rebrand and apply for new grants next quarter. And your taxes will keep flowing into the same machine that thought haircuts for illegal aliens was a public health initiative.

At least the migrants got a nice haircut out of it. That’s more than most taxpayers can say they got from their government this year.
